Brief History

In order to establish the presence of the Church and that the Gospel may be preached in the hill district of Almora, Bishop Anthony Fernandes invited the Jesuits of Delhi province in 1989. Since then, the Jesuits and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have been doing the pioneer work and opening the new avenues of missionary endeavour.
