Brief History:

Kichha is situated at a strategic location on the Bareilly-Nainital road. Therefore, it was a long cherished desire to open a mission here. But, due to non availability of land, it was not realized. However, in 1991 Kichha mission was established and Fr. Bonaventure Menezes, the Priest in-charge initiated the work by staying in a rented room. A small plot of land was purchased in the Avas Vikas Colony, and a Convent and a School were built and inaugurated in June 1992. Holy Cross Sisters of Calcutta province accepted the challenge of spreading the good news of the Kingdom in the surrounding area by their presence and social activities.
