Brief History:

It is said that the church in Kombadi was built in the 1870s. In 1887 Fr. Calian baptized 80 persons at Puthiamputhur, one of the 13 substations of Kombadi, according to the Madurai Mission Records. Even before that 166 Catholics were living in that place. Kombadi became a parish in 1939.
