Brief History:

Kadambathur is a remote mission started by Rev Fr Vallavanthara with four converted families. Earlier Fr Devita, an Italian Priest worked in these sub-stations and built chapels. It was established on 17th May 1970 by Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore Most Rev Dr R Arulappa. Initially there was a small chapel built and dedicated to St. Mathew. From 1985 onwards, nine substations were attached to this mission. There is a tremendous growth in the mission here. This mission which started with four families has grown to 330 families The present Church is built by Fr P A Jacob in 2004

About the Church

Saint Patrick’s Church is a Roman Catholic church located near St. Thomas Mount, in Chennai, India. From 1887, the church at the foot of St. Thomas Mount had been used as the Parish Church as it was convenient for the growing population. This Church was actually built for the garrison in 1830 by Daniel O.
