History
History of Maranodai Matha Temple:
As early as the 18th century, the mother’s thatched cottage temple was built on the banks of the lake.
A small stone building with a tiled roof was built by Father Mariadominic in 1921 AD on the southern edge of 0.45 acres in Ayan Punjai Survey No. 82/1 donated by the family of Senthamangalam Duraisamy (in gratitude for the blessing of a male child).
The proud history of Mother Maranodai Moksha Rakini and the history of the temple where she resides spans over 300 years. From the very beginning in the 18th century, the people who lived in this land lived in the loving embrace of the Church of Jesus. They excelled in Christian faith and Marian devotion.
