History
Michael the Archangel Church has about a hundred years of history and development. Before 1930 it was functioning under the Kollam Hierarchy District, after 1930 under the Kottar Diocese and since 2015 under the Kulitura Diocese. It is running with the ideal thirst for full human liberation and the justice of sharing life.
Till 1905, the Uchchakadi stake functioned as a branch stake of the Vlathankarai stake and under the Kollam Archdiocese. In 1905, when Uchakadai was raised as a separate stock, under the name Sudarkadai, Siluvaipuram stock platforms became branch stocks of Uchakadai stock.
From 1915 to 1922, he served as the parish priest of the Spanish bishop John Damascene. In 1920, he built a hut for the people of Sudarkadai (surroundings) and worshiped in it. About 300 people converted to Christianity in those days and became members of this group. After this in the year 1922 Reverend Peter Lazarus Christian became the shareholder of Uchakada Bank.
History of Land Acquisition:
The thatched temple, which had already been built during the time of Reverend Peter Lazarus Christian, collapsed due to rain. Due to this the worship was also interrupted. As a result, many of the people of Panku separated and joined the nearby Rakshannya army. Since there was no temple and no place to build a new temple, after various efforts to bring together the separated people, 2 acres of 79 cents land for the temple was bought for Rs. Purchased for 1534.50 paise and deeded on 17th August 192
