In 2014, to mark the 300th anniversary of the temple, the then parish priest Fr. The temple was again restored by Joseph and a monument to the Mother was erected in front of the temple. Also, on 27-09-2014, Golden Chariot was held for Mother. The phenomenon of miraculous downpour during the grand procession of the festival is believed to be an innovation of the Mother.

History

The Holy Panimaya Anai Temple was built 300 years ago by the ‘Old Madurai Temple’ Gurus of Portuguese origin. Similar Portuguese architectural structures can be found in all of the older stocks; (For example – Old Marian Cathedral Trichy, Trichy Old Temple, Purathakudy, Vadukharpet etc.)
Fr. A chapel was erected at the foot of the hill by Emmanuel Rodríguez and dedicated to Mother Mary (present-day Sagaya Mata Krusadi). A wooden cross was also erected on the top of the hill (which remains intact till today).
In those circumstances, people were afraid of rolling rocks (slide rock – which can still be seen today), so people settled away from the foothills. A small temple was also built in this area.  This is the area where Malayadipatti town is now located. These events took place over 50 years.
