Brief History:
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Pagodu, traces its origins to missionisation efforts from 1933 under Fr. Stanislaus Maria’s leadership following the formation of Kottar Diocese. A small chapel was constructed in 1937 and relocated in 1939 to the present site, where a new church building was completed and consecrated by Bishop T.R. Anjaysamy. The parish was established as an independent entity in 1958 and now serves approximately 364 families, with the branch church St. Lourdes Church at Nellikkavila.
