Brief History:
Residents of Pilavilai originally travelled to Karangadu for worship. The community established a small shrine with a cross and prayer house, venerating St. George as their protector. As devotion grew through the saint reported miracles, parishioners decided to construct a proper church. Following groundwork by local leaders and the then-Manguzhi parish priest Fr. Suzai Michael, the edifice was built through 1966 with community contributions and formally consecrated that year. The parish now serves 220 families.
