Brief History:
St. Rayappan Church was established by Mr. Rayappan Nadar, a devout settler from the Malabar region who arrived around 1880. He constructed a leaf chapel in 1890 dedicated to St. Peter (St. Rayappar). His son later upgraded it to a mud structure, which was eventually replaced with a stone building in 1982. The current structure was consecrated on February 2, 2009, following reconstruction efforts supported by community labour and donations. The parish serves around 100 Catholic families and operates St. Rayappan School, established in 1948.
