Brief History:
The rural community of Pudukudiyiruppu historically relied on palm and tamarind cultivation. A small thatched chapel was built approximately 75 years ago where residents gathered for evening prayers. The new church was constructed with donations from the faithful and diocesan support, inaugurated on October 4, 1986 by Bishop Amalnadhar. Since 1987, an annual ten-day festival has been observed during August 9-18 in honor of Saint Francis Xavier.
