Brief History:
Christian weaving families from Silverpuram, Sayarpuram, Arulanandapuram, and Paramankurichi settled in this area several generations before the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church was constructed and inaugurated by Bishop Roch in 1935. As the original structure deteriorated over time, reconstruction became necessary. Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Augustine, work on the new church commenced, and Rev. Fr. Mariathas Lipton completed the project. The rebuilt church was consecrated by Bishop Yvon Ambroise on May 17, 2014. Originally a branch of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Annanagar, the church came under Holy Ruth Parish in 2018. Today, it serves 54 Catholic families with regular pastoral care.
