Brief History:

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Vijay Achchampadi, was established in 1930 after the local community embraced the Catholic faith during the early twentieth century. Dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, the church was initially served by priests from Sathankulam before becoming a branch parish of Holy Rosary Church, Mannarapuram, in 1982. Over the years, the church has witnessed several improvements, including the construction of a front vestibule in 1987, the completion of a protective boundary wall between 1991 and 1996, and the replacement of the original roof with a reinforced concrete structure featuring a prominent church tower. The renovated church was solemnly consecrated in 2002. Today, the parish serves around 55 Catholic families and remains an active centre of worship and community life. The annual feast begins on September 20 and concludes with the feast of St. Michael the Archangel on September 29.
