Church Established – 1974.
Brief History:
Saint Aloysius Church, Pirandarkulam, has its roots in a Catholic settlement that existed about 200 years ago approximately 500 metres north of the present village. Following a devastating cholera epidemic, the residents relocated and established a new settlement, where they built a humble thatched chapel dedicated to Saint Aloysius Gonzaga. As the Catholic community grew, a permanent stone church was constructed and completed in 1974, providing a lasting place of worship for the faithful. In 2016, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Peter Bastian, the aging structure was demolished to make way for a larger and more modern church. The newly constructed church was solemnly consecrated on August 22, 2019, by Bishop Stephen. Located about 2 kilometres from Saveriyarpuram, the parish today serves approximately 100 Catholic families. The annual feast of Saint Aloysius is celebrated over ten days in August with liturgical celebrations, processions, and parish gatherings.
