Brief History:

The parish traces its origins to around 1937 when local believers constructed a thatched chapel and dedicated it to Saint Barbara as their patroness. A permanent structure was built in 1965 under Rev. Fr. Arul Prakashnathan. Subsequent renovations occurred during Rev. Fr. Hridayanathan’s tenure (1995-2001) and Rev. Fr. C. Michael’s period (2002-2006), when boundary walls were added. Recent restoration and new boundary construction were undertaken by the current priest Rev. Fr. R. Jayaseelan. The church functions as a branch chapel under Holy Mother of Lourdes Church, Rasipuram, and serves 6 families. The feast is celebrated on December 4.
