Brief History:

The church in Aniyar developed from modest beginnings as part of Ilanagar parish. During Rev. Fr. Kuruvilah Thomas’s tenure (1977-1984), a handloom weaving center was established to serve the poor. As the Christian population grew, a small chapel was constructed and dedicated on April 28, 1993. Rev. Fr. Massilammani (1998-2003) renovated the structure. Current Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Selvam Francis Xavier subsequently repainted and restored the building. The church serves 27 families as a branch of Holy Paul Church, Ilanagar, and celebrates its feast on September 8 in honour of Our Lady of Good Health.
