Brief History:

Initially established around 1890 as a modest thatched structure, the current ornate church was constructed in 1920 by Mr. Savarimuthu Pillai. A wooden crucifix displayed in this church and the Mettupatty Church was carved by artisan Arumaiyan during that era. The church reached its centennial milestone in 2020, marking significant architectural heritage preservation. The church is affiliated with Arokiya Mata Church, Sempatti. Tuesday evening Mass is held at 6:30 PM and the feast (a four-day St. James festival) is held in April (Chitra month).
