Brief History:

The church originated from the Ayyanakulam pond site before 1900. Initially serving six families with a small chapel, it expanded significantly under Fr. T.A. Michael’s leadership (1958-1969). The cornerstone was laid in 1965 and construction completed under various priests. Bishop Justin Thravium consecrated the present structure on July 1, 1971. The parish was elevated to independent status on May 10, 1983. The church serves 200+ families (including branches: 500+) with 8 religious congregations. Devotees seeking intercession experience divine fulfillment through this shrine dedicated to Saint Susaiappar. The feast is celebrated April 22-May 1 over ten days.
