Brief History:

Child Mother Shrine at Kangeyam is known as the only shrine in Asia dedicated to the Child Mother (Infant Jesus’ Mother). The sanctuary design mirrors Noah’s Ark, and the central statue arrived from Milan, Italy. The shrine was recognized within three years of its establishment, and over 672 couples have been blessed with children through prayers here. The shrine is associated with the Tharapuram Deanery of the Coimbatore Diocese. Special events include monthly family consecration programs, a unique September 8th Birth Festival with 14.5 hours of continuous worship, and special January 15th anointing festival. The shrine provides extensive amenities for pilgrims including hostels, private rooms, and parking facilities.
