In 1864 the British requested the Catholic Church to take care of the spiritual needs of people serving in the Railway Department in Rewari and provided the Catholics a Chapel in the Railway colony. The catholic priest was taken care of by the Railway department. Towards 1980 the catholic population in the railway colony was diminishing. Hence there was not much work for a priest. So, It was taken care of by the parish priest of Gurgoan. Then in 1986 Fr. John Bosco and Fr. Bala of Tamilnadu, after serving the Delhi Archdiocese for two years, were sent to explore the possibilities of serving the people of Rewari and the Catholics in the Railway Colony.
In the process Fr. John Bosco and Fr. Bala under the guidance of the present Archbishop of Delhi, Most Rev. Vincent Concessao, established a center “DIVYODAYAâ€, 60 Housing Board Colony (MIG),Pin – 123 401, Rewari in 1987. The two Fathers were serving the people of undivided Mahndragarh District (Present Mahindragarh and Rewari districts)Fr. John Bosco organized the people at Bhiwari of Ajmer Diocese and after a year the Jesuits took over it. In Narnaul there were no Catholics but a center was established by Fr. John Bosco for helping the people. Then the center was given to the Pialr Fathers by the Archbishop of Delhi. In 1989 Fr. Bala went back to his Diocese, Coiambatore. Fr. John Bosco was called back to Tuticorin on 21.05.1992.
