Brief History:

The Gospel was first sown in Kelamangalam during the Mysore Mission’s early period. By 1668-1674, approximately 420 Christians resided in the area. The church faced suppression during Tipu Sultan’s 1784 invasion. By the 1960s, Christian families resettled there. One acre of land was purchased on January 25, 1965, and the original church was consecrated on February 5, 1968, by Archbishop V.S. Selvanather. The current structure was consecrated on February 23, 2003, by Bishop Joseph Anthony Ithayaraj. Kelamangalam became an independent parish in 2004. The church serves 16 families and the feast is celebrated on June 7th.
