Brief History:
The shrine traces origins to approximately 300 years ago when Veeramaamunivar invited cattle herder communities to the Dindigul region. The community settled after three brothers relocated from Mullipatty. The original structure deteriorated significantly; in 2009, Bishop Anthony Pappusamy authorized reconstruction. Construction commenced February 7, 2010, and the new building was consecrated December 28, 2010. The structure was officially inaugurated May 6, 2012. The parish achieved independent status June 7, 2017, becoming the diocese’s 50th parish. The shrine serves 600 families with 10 branch parishes, and the feast is celebrated January 16-18.
