Brief History:

This church maintains approximately 150 years of tradition. Agriculture forms the community’s primary livelihood, with finger millet cultivation thriving in the area. The feast was historically called the finger millet rice festival, reflecting this crop’s importance. The celebration honors farmers and farming with special reverence. Ten weeks of prayers occur during the autumn month, concluding with a ritual offering. After structural deterioration, the old altar alone was preserved while constructing the new building, dedicated December 3, 2018, by Bishop Balsamy. The church serves 50 families and the feast is celebrated on December 3rd over three days. It is a branch church under St. Anthony Shrine, Marampadi.
