Brief History:

Child Jesus Church, Kotturkonam, was established in 1895 when Fr. Anthony Victor acquired one acre of land and built a small chapel to serve the spiritual needs of European engineers and labourers working on the Pechipparai Dam construction. Dedicated to the Child Jesus, the church later fell into decline until the I.C.M. Sisters arrived in 1916 and revived religious activities including establishing a primary school. The parish continues to serve the local community with the feast of the Child Jesus celebrated during the Pongal festival.
