Brief History:

Holy Annunciation Church, Ambankalay, was constructed and consecrated in 1970 during the tenure of Fr. Bellarmine as parish priest of Puthancode. When Holy Carmel Mother Church, Colachel, became an independent parish in 1973, this congregation became its subsidiary branch. A new church building was constructed and consecrated on October 10, 2003. The parish serves approximately 120 families with 5 religious sisters.
