Brief History:

Holy Apostle Stephen Church, Bhaagyapuram, was established in 1887 when Fr. Elias purchased the current church site and founded a sanctuary under Saint Stephen’s patronage. The parish was elevated to independent status in 1936 and a new church building was consecrated on September 25, 1988. Today the parish serves approximately 600 families across 17 mission stations with two sub-churches: Holy Mother of Heavenly Gate Church at Annai Nagar and St. Joseph Church at Kuzhichal.
