Holy Mother of Heaven Church, Arumanai, was established in Anna Nagar during the late 19th century by an Italian priest named Fr. Innocent who founded this place of worship in 1889. It functioned as a mission church under Bakki Pur parish. Population growth in the congregation prompted a significant expansion in 1983. Today the parish serves approximately 130 families across 7 sub-parishes as a branch of St. Stephen’s Church, Bakki Pur.
