Brief History:

The congregation traces roots to 1929 when Jesuit missionaries expanded Christian presence across southern districts from Sathur. By 1931, a small chapel and school were constructed at Kosavakkulam. A permanent church was built in 1935 at the Maruthupaandi settlement. The current stone structure was laid in 1982 and consecrated in 1984 under Rev. Fr. Alphonse’s leadership. In 1999, the branch status was formalized under Othaiyaal parish. A roadside shrine was dedicated in 2000 by auxiliary bishop Anthony Pappusamy. Regular celebrations began in 2005 and a protective fence was added in 2008. The church serves 15 families as a branch of Miraculous Child Jesus Church, Othaiyaal, and celebrates its feast on September 8.
