Brief History:

Kothamangalam is situated on the banks of the Kaveri River in Salem District. The Christian community here was historically led by Rev. Fr. Matthew Thekkudam. The Holy Queen Mother Church was constructed through the efforts of Rev. Fr. Mario Rodasini and was inaugurated in January 2002. Initially functioning as a branch under Holy Lourdes Mother Church, Perungurichi, it became subordinate to Holy Mother Church, Solasirammani when that congregation was elevated to independent parish status in 2005. The church serves 30 families and celebrates its feast on August 15 in honour of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Located 9 km from Sozhashiramani on the road to Jaderapalayam.
