Brief History:

The church sits near the Western Ghats with refreshing monsoon breezes. Locals take pride in being ancient Christians, descendants of Saint Susaiappar’s followers. The parish initially served as a branch under Tirunelveli, then Avudaianur after 1981. A 180-year-old church structure was reopened in 2017 under the current priest’s initiative, now dedicated to Saint Anthony with annual September 8 celebrations. The new church was dedicated May 1, 2015, becoming an independent parish on April 29, 2018, as the Diocese’s 55th parish. The church serves 103 families and the feast is celebrated April 22-May 1.
