Holy Pilgrimage Mother Shrine
Cruospuram
Cruospuram, Tuticorin District, Tamil Nadu.
Parish Priest – Rev. Fr. Uppertus.
Church Established – 1713.

Brief History:

This maritime shrine originated when Catholic fishermen and pearl divers sought divine protection for their ocean voyages. The structure evolved from a humble thatched hut constructed by seafaring communities around 1713 into a stone church. The name Cinthaathirai means victorious journey, making it the patron sanctuary for travelers undertaking perilous maritime expeditions. A cherished tradition sees newly wedded couples perform the Northern Journey ceremony at this shrine, seeking blessings for successful married life. The feast is celebrated over three days beginning with flag hoisting on the last Friday of June.
