Brief History:

This parish originated as a chapel when cholera devastated the region, prompting residents to seek spiritual refuge through prayer. A landowner constructed a thatched church dedicated to St. Francis Xavier around 1920, serving approximately 700 Catholic families. The congregation grew steadily, leading to expanded facilities in 1985. The parish was officially established as an independent entity on November 21, 1999, and a modern church building was consecrated on December 2, 2013. The parish has produced 7 ordained vocations and now serves 250 families. It is part of the Diocese of Tuticorin.
