Brief History:
Around 200 years ago, local residents engaged in dried fish commerce with Pallayakayil fisherfolk and were influenced by Catholic Christianity through these contacts. Mr. Maria Jesuvadiyan and others converted to Catholicism and decided to build a chapel, with the local chieftain donating land for the first palm-leaf structure chapel in what is now Nattathi village. The permanent limestone building was completed in 1958 with support from American Blonigen Sisters, and the parish was established as an independent unit in 1936. The church now serves approximately 450 families across six affiliated branch parishes.
