Brief History:

A migrant Catholic family from coastal villages established this congregation after moving from Azhagappapuram during British colonial rule. They initially worshipped in a palm-thatched structure that later burned down. Bishop Rosch consecrated the current stone structure in 1932, dedicated to St. Francis Borgia as patron of the parish. The church continues to serve the faithful in this charming village setting and holds its annual feast celebration in late September through the first week of October. The parish belongs to the Diocese of Tuticorin.
