Brief History:
The congregation was established when Mr. Michael Nadar, inspired by his devotion at the Tenkasi shrine, built a small chapel dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel. As the Catholic community grew, more villagers embraced the faith and received baptism through visiting priests. During the 1930s, Mr. Nadar constructed a tiled church at the present site and also established a primary school. The school received permanent recognition in 1940, and the church was renovated and blessed by Bishop Ambrose Madalaimuthu in 1974. Today, the church serves 25 Catholic families as a branch of Holy Rosary Church, North Meenavankulam. The annual feast is celebrated over ten days during the second week of May.
