Brief History:

St. Joseph’s School, Puranpur was started in 1990 by Fr. Salvadore D’ Souza, in an old rice mill. IBMV Sisters were invited to render their helping hand in the school and other pastoral activities. Around 3 acres of land was purchased and a convent and school were built and inaugurated on the 11th July 1991 by Bishop Anthony Fernades. The new Parish house was inaugurated on 19th February 2000.
