History

The land for the Roman Catholic Ashram was acquired in 1999. Later, Rev. Fr. Mathew Chennatt was appointed as the priest in charge in February 2000. Under his leadership, the mission expanded its pastoral work and served the growing Catholic community in and around Jasidih.

Afterwards, the church was blessed on 24 October 2005. Moreover, the mission extended its services to nearby sub-stations, including Karwathari and Sajani. Schools were established, and pastoral care was offered to families living in these villages. In addition, religious sisters and local Catholic communities regularly participated in Holy Mass and parish activities.

Today, the ashram continues to provide regular Holy Mass, catechism, prayer services, and spiritual guidance. Furthermore, it serves local residents as well as Catholic families who come to Jasidih for work and travel. Therefore, the Roman Catholic Ashram remains an important center of Catholic faith, education, and community service in the Deoghar district.
