Brief History:
In 1871 Princess Isabella renewed the promises of the Vicar Apostolic, Bp. Tosi of Mcap. As a result two Capuchin priests Fr. Raphael and Fr. Norbert were sent to Bhopal. On the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, 4th Oct. 1881 the foundation of the Church was laid and a High mass was celebrated on a temporary altar. In the year 1963 St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral, Jehangirabad became a permanent parish and regular masses were offered in this parish.
