Brief History:
This Parish, located 22 kms from Thiruvallur was bifurcated from Kadambathur and established in 1975 under the divine Patronage of ‘Jagan Madha Mariaal’. Thiruvelangadu, Nedumbaram and Arcot Kuppam were assigned as sub-stations. In 1995 the Infant Jesus Formation House was shifted from Thiruvallur to Kanakammachatram.In 2005 the St Thomas Junior Seminary was shifted from San Thome to Kanakammachatram. The Parish of Kanakammchatram has gained much acclaim as an ideal atmosphere for the formation of the aspirants for priesthood.
