Brief History:
The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church established its first Thuckalay mission in Nithiravilai in 1960. The inaugural baptism on September 18, 1960 administered the sacrament to 68 individuals, marking Christianity’s formal establishment in the region. The church operates a charitable centre for children with developmental disabilities through the ASMI Sisters. The parish comprises approximately 280 families.
