Brief History:

The church was established in 1935 as a small thatched structure, with the inaugural Mass celebrated on May 12, 1935. The current stone structure with its illuminated cross tower was consecrated in 1972, serving as a spiritual lighthouse for fishing communities. Over decades the parish developed educational institutions, a hospital, a post office, and elderly care facilities, earning recognition as a pilgrimage centre. The parish now serves approximately 850 families.
