Brief History:

St. Anthony’s Church, Kanur, was established and consecrated on June 12, 1992 by Bishop P. Arokya Samy, with the bell tower installed and blessed on June 13, 1993. The parish was elevated to a full independent parish on June 13, 2025, incorporating Catholic communities from surrounding villages and now serving approximately 1,540 parishioners. The annual feast of St. Anthony is celebrated on June 13.
