Brief History:

Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Balapalli, was constructed and consecrated on April 30, 1974, after community leaders arranged for a small chapel to serve residents who previously had to travel long distances to worship. ICM Sisters provided dedicated pastoral service resulting in numerous baptisms and conversions. When St. Anthony’s Church, Manali, was elevated to independent parish status on June 4, 2002, Balapalli became its dependent chapel. A new church building was blessed on October 1, 2004. The parish serves approximately 160 families.
