Brief History:

St. Michael the Archangel Church, Kuzhithurai, was constructed and consecrated in 1920 with assistance from the Bishop of Kollam and through community cooperation, initially featuring a thatched roof. The structure was upgraded to tile roofing under Fr. Varkey and underwent significant expansion during Fr. Robert’s tenure, with a new building dedicated on January 1, 1997. It achieved independent parish status on November 5, 2015 and is the only Catholic church within Kuzhithurai town, situated near the western railway station. The parish serves approximately 180 families.
