Brief History:

This shrine originated when a woman evangelist, believed to have received faith from Saint Francis Xavier in the 16th century, established a cross marked 1677 at this site. The location became a pilgrimage destination where locals gathered for prayer and rosary devotions. The formal church building was constructed in 1978 under Bishop Marianus Arokiasamy guidance, notably without foreign or diocesan financial assistance, earning special commendation from the bishop. Additional facilities including a community hall opened in 2000, a parish residence in 2004, and the newly constructed church was consecrated on December 30, 2017, serving approximately 270 families.
