Brief History:

A small chapel was constructed in 1920 on two cents of land to facilitate worship for local Catholic families including teacher Rajendran Nadar and his family. Initially serving as a branch of Pankudi parish, the congregation expanded with five Catholic families settling nearby. The original structure was replaced with a concrete church during 1983-84 under Fr. Amaladas’s tenure. Due to migration for employment, the community has reduced over time, though the parish continues its spiritual mission under the Vadakankulum deanery of the Tuticorin diocese.
