Brief History:
This congregation originated when Catholic families migrated from a nearby settlement, initially worshipping at a thatched structure on the church grounds. The humble chapel was later replaced with a proper structure through the fulfillment of a vow by the late Susy Anthony Motha. Since the mother parish, Sippikulam Church, is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, this daughter church received the designation of Christ the King. Despite the small Catholic population of four families, the community maintains harmony with people of other faiths in the village. The church is located on the Tuticorin–Rameswaram coastal highway.
