Brief History:

The first church dedicated to Holy Selvanayaki Mother in Mohanur was constructed through the efforts of Rev. Fr. T. C. Thomas, the then parish priest of RC Pattappalayam Parish, and was consecrated by Archbishop Michael Bosco Duraiswamy of the Salem Diocese on May 12, 1979. The church was later renovated under Rev. Fr. Selvaraj Francis Xavier’s initiative and re-consecrated by former Archbishop S. Singarayyan on May 31, 2016. A chapel honouring the seven forms of Mother Mary was also blessed during this rededication. The parish serves 45 families and the feast is celebrated on May 17.
