Brief History:

Our Lady of Vailankanni Church in Konganapur was established in 1992 through the efforts of then-Parish Priest Rev. Fr. P. Xavier. The church was built on land donated by local residents including Mr. Rayappan and others. It was consecrated on June 9, 1994. The church compound wall was constructed during Fr. Joseph Laser’s tenure. The silver jubilee of the church was celebrated in 2019, when the church was renovated with community support and blessed by three priests celebrating their ordination anniversary that year. The church serves 15 families as a branch of Holy Selvanayaki Mother Church, Edappadi, and celebrates its feast on the second or third Saturday of September in honour of Our Lady of Vailankanni (Velankanni).
