Brief History:

The parish traces its origins to 1623 when missionary Robert de Nobili visited the region. Initial worship began in a thatched hut in 1679. The first tiled church was constructed in 1865. Following land acquisition in 1996 and a foundation stone laying in 1997, a new church building was inaugurated on March 25, 2001. The church is affiliated with Periyar University (TNHB) and serves 250 families with 9 religious sisters. The feast of Mother Jeyarakkini is celebrated on February 2-3 each year, with flag hoisting on January 25, candle procession and solemn Mass on February 2, and thanksgiving Mass on February 3.
